LED display screen selection and comparison of various display technologies
With the development of digitization and informationization, large screens have been used more and more in various occasions, and various display technologies have emerged. From the early CRT, to the current LCD display, PDP, FED, DLP, etc., flat panel display technology has shown a diversified development trend. The following will discuss the choice of LED screen and its comparison with rear projection, LCD, PDP.
 
Is a LED screen suitable for its own use?
Here are two simple questions that can help you decide if your LED screen is right for your specific application:
1. What is the brightness of the installation environment you choose?
If the environment is very bright, please prefer LED or rear projection.
 
2. What size does your display need?
If you want a large, 60-inch, seamless display, you can choose a front projection, rear projection or LED display.

    The modern advertising network system is entering a new and unknown area, which is due to the application of a large number of LED displays. The speed of modern information networks has enabled video to spread quickly and widely. More and more application cases show that streaming video with acceptable display quality is now technically mature.
 
    The development of the Internet has made video playback networks even across the ocean. At the touch of a button, the latest news or content can be displayed on the world's display screens, with impact and spread beyond the reach of the past.
For typical indoor locations, the use of flat panel displays and projectors is acceptable. But in some places, these technologies do not provide the required display quality, but bright indoors and any outdoor environment are deadly nemesis of these technologies.
Below we will explain why LEDs provide the best solution, and in most cases, how does it solve the above problems. At the same time, LED is not a panacea. Selecting and designing LED screens must follow some good rules and techniques.
 
 
First, we will examine different display technologies, understand their applicable environment, and the reasons for their application.
Projection
Projection is one of the earliest display technologies. With the development of advanced deflection technology, the current projection technology uses DLP and LCD display instead of celluloid film to display content on the projection screen. Today, the use of rear projection is more common than the front projection.
The distinguishing feature of the front projection is that it can support a large screen display that can accommodate a large audience.
 
a. Perform well in low light environments.
High resolution

b. The life of the bulb is short, so the maintenance cost is high.
The rear projection module's screen size is limited to 50-80 inches, and multiple projectors and screens can be used to form a rear-projection wall. This is a very fashionable device 10 years ago and is still used in the control room display. . Advantages and disadvantages of rear projection:
 
In ordinary indoor light environment, the display effect is good;
High resolution
Due to the color matching problem of each rear projection block, the rear projection size is limited;
A few millimeters of margin between each of the rear projection blocks is more pronounced, hindering its use as a large screen in some applications.
 
It can be seen from the above analysis that in a bright environment, the effect of the projection screen is not satisfactory, and it is better to use the LED screen.
 
2. Plasma display:
Plasma displays have been available for nearly a decade, revolutionizing the way we view information in a business environment. Its slim shape and large size display give us the feeling that a clunky CRT display can never be done.
 
Plasma breakthroughs in technology enable shopping malls, airports, and train stations to present their information and ideas in a broader and more efficient manner. It is also one of the main tools for all information publishing networks.
 
Plasma screens on the market today are typically 60 inches (or 80-inch large plasma screens if you have enough money), and basically have higher resolution. Its advantages and disadvantages are:
 
a. high resolution;
b. Low brightness, only 400 nits;
c. The service life is short, in some cases less than two years, and there is no effective solution;
d. You have to endure the phenomenon of burning the picture.
Therefore, compared with it, the LED screen is superior to its high brightness and long service life.
 
3.LCD display
LCD display technology emerged in the late 1960s and experienced many changes during the digital visual revolution in the late 1970s and early 1980s. In recent years, LCD displays have been tracking the plasma in terms of size, but now it is found that it is embezzling plasma in the large flat screen market.
 
The main advantages of LCD displays are far superior to the long-term stability of plasma. Merchants who have made large-scale investments in the field of LCD displays are making their performance look better than the promotional materials, but it is clear that the facts are somewhat unsatisfactory. The main problem with LCD displays is the speed with which the LCD responds and how fast it is distorted and recovered. Of course, in recent years, its response speed has been greatly improved, but it is still not good enough. Its advantages and disadvantages are as follows:
 
a. high resolution;
b. Large size (more expensive than plasma);
c. Long service life and high stability;
d. Lower brightness, 400 nits.
 
In contrast, LED screens respond faster and have higher brightness when playing video.
 
Four LED display technology advantages
LED screens appeared in the 1960s, but it was not until the mid-1990s that full-color screens appeared. The price of this technology has been greatly reduced in recent years, and the resolution has also been greatly improved. The LED screen is mainly used in places where more viewers are watching. It can provide seamless screens of almost any size, from 1 square meter to the large size you can imagine.
 
The smallest OUTDOOR LED screens for ultra-high resolution 3mm pixel dot matrix products are still very expensive, so 6mm dot matrix pixels are the most high resolution products that are commonly used.
Plasma pixel lattices can be less than 0.5 mm, so LED screens can't be compared to plasma and LCD screens in resolution, but they are not used in the same way, for example, they are not used for realistic detailed text information. .
 
For video, the low resolution performance of the LED screen is good. In fact, you usually see that the resolution of the LED video screen is similar to the resolution when you look at the computer monitor.
 
But the LED display does have an excellent performance, namely brightness. LED screens are typically 10 times brighter than other display technologies, and as such, they can be installed anywhere that other screens cannot be installed, including bright indoor environments, and of course outdoor. Its characteristics are:
 
1 large screen display - from 1 to 500 square meters can effectively control the budget;
 
2 High brightness - can be viewed directly in the sun, is the only display technology to achieve the ideal picture at a reasonable price;
 
3 modular design - easy to maintain;
4 The longest service life of all display technologies – there will be no major changes in performance over 5 years.
